Kim Kardashian is an American T.V. Star, Entrepreneur, Socialite and Super Model. In the beginning she got the attention of media as the friend and stylist of socialite and Businesswoman Paris Hilton. Kim Kardashian got greater prominence when her first sex tape Kim Kardashian Superstar was released in 2007. Thereafter, she never looked back and along with her siblings launched E! T V Reality Series Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Encouraged by the immense success of the first series she launched three more Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York and Hullu’s Kardashians.

With ever rising popularity and the onset of social media platforms she became a household name across the world. Kim Kardashian is one of the most sought after stars on social media such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with sizeable followers. This opens up new earning avenues for her by endorsing products and services of some of the renowned companies. She has used her popularity as a tool to launch some products and services tied to her name. Kim Kardashian: Hollywood is the mobile game for iPhone and Android released by her in 2014  and also released photo book Selfish and self-titled personal app.

She also acted in films – Disaster Movie (2008), Deep in the Valley (2009) and Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor(2013). When she could’nt see much prospects in the film industry she changed her focus to other important things that may lead her to success and the entrepreneurship was the obvious choice.

Assisted by her two sisters, Kardashian ventured into business in 2017 by founding two companies KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrance. She launched shape wear company “Kimono” in 2019 after criticism from many accounts, changed its name to “Skims”.She was included among 100 most influential people in 2015 list of Times Magazine.  Kardashian is estimated to be $ 1.8 billion as on April 2022.

Family and Educational Background

Kim Kardashian is also known as Kimberly Noel Kardashian was born on 21^st October 1980 to Robert George Kardashian (third generation Armenian –American) and Kris Kardashian of Dutch, English, Irish and Scottish ancestry. She has three siblings, two sisters and a brother. Her parents divorced in 1991 and mother married Bruce Jenner, the winner of 1976 Olympic Decathlon.

 

She got her primary education from Mary Mount High School, all – girl’s school in Los Angeles, California. Her father was a professional lawyer and represented football player O. J. Simpson for his murder trial. Simpson is considered as the godfather of Kardashian. In her beginning years when she was in her early twenties she was the friend and stylist of Paris Hilton.

Initial years of Working: Kim Kardashian started working in 1996 at neighbourhood garment store Body in Encino, California, she was merely 16. She remained on the job for the next four years. Owing to the first marriage she resigned. In 2003Kardashian worked as personal stylist to the R&B singer and actress, Brandy, the sister of Ray J. In 2004 Kardashian started working as stylist and assistant to her childhood friend Socialite Paris Hilton.  She also participated in reality show The Simple Life produced by Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. She publicly acknowledge that Paris Hilton played the pivotal role by showing her right direction and thus laid the foundation of her career.

Kim Kardashian ventured into new field started producing shape wear under the brand name Kimono. It gave birth to great controversy as Term Kimono also stands for Japanese Traditional Dress. After much pressure from various quarters she decided to rename the trademark to Skims in 2019. She not only launched the brand on her own digital platform but also circulate on other well-known online platforms such as David Jones, Net-a Porter, etc. Kim Kardashian elaborated her vision for the brand Skims as “Diversity and Inclusivity”.

According to her the endeavour of the company would be to cater to tailor made needs of all kind of customers keeping in mind the colours and sizes of the clothes. She entered into partnership with Nordstrom to market its shape wear at the exclusive stores across the US. The company also expanded its range of products by adding lingerie, loungewear, body suits, dresses and winter wear into its scheme of things. Skimsis spreading its wings throughout USA, Europe and Asia. Brand also entered into a partnership with USA Olympics Team and committed to provide undergarments, Pajamas and loungewear and some other clothing items to the female athletes at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan

Kim Kardashian also collaborated with fashion house Fandiin 2021 and collaboration is titled as Fandi X Skims under which they decided to produce range of clothes that included Shape wear, leather dresses, and body suits. For all these efforts and success she was adorned with Brand Innovator Award at the 2021 WSJ Innovator Award. According to reliable sources her company (Skims) worth is US$ 3.2 billion.

To further elaborate his area of work Kardashian established SKKY Partners, an equity firm and her mother Kris Jenner is a partner in this venture.

Kim Kardashian eloped with music producer Damon Thomas in 2000, when she was 19 year old. Three years later Thomas applied for divorce. She put the blame on him for the separation and accused him of physical and emotional abuse. Even before her divorce was materialized, she began dating singer Ray J. A sex tape was made by Kim Kardashian and Ray J. in 2003, which was released as a film Kim Kardashian, Superstar in 2007.

Kim Kardashian had been dating NBA player Kris Humphries since Oct. 2010 and got engaged in May 2011, and finally got married on August 20 the same year. She filed for divorce after 72 days of marriage on ground of irreconcilable difference. Their divorce got widespread attention of the media.

Kardashian started dating renowned rapper Kanye West in 2012.Both got engaged on Oct. 21, 2013, that happened to be her birthday also and finally married on24^th May 2014. They have four offspring, two sons and two daughters. After remained in relationship for about for years they decided to part ways on April 2021, citing irreconcilable differences and also reached at an agreement to have joint custody of their four children.  She got back her single status on March 2022.

In Nov. 2021 Kim Kardashian started dating actor and comedian Pete Davidson, but the relationship short lived and ended in August 2022.

She got school education in Christian schools belonging to Roman Catholic and Presbyterian traditions. She was given Armenian name Heghineduring her baptism in an Armenian Apostolic ceremony at the baptistery in Etchmiadzin Cathedral complex. She baptized her eldest daughter North in April 2015 in the Armenian Apostolic Church, Jerusalem, one of the oldest Churches Oriental Orthodox Christianity. Her three younger children were also baptized in Etchmiadzin Cathedral complex, Armenia’s mother Church.
