Musk’s assessment of Ramaswamy’s campaign was highly favorable, deeming it to hold great promise. This endorsement follows Ramaswamy’s interview with former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson, which garnered Musk’s attention.
Utilizing the platform previously known as Twitter (now called X), Musk conveyed his positive perspective, stating, “He is a very promising candidate.” Musk also chose to share the interview, which spotlighted Ramaswamy as the youngest-ever Republican presidential contender in the United States, participating in the elections at a mere 37 years of age.
Vivek Ramaswamy, an accomplished Indian-American tech entrepreneur, has launched his bid for the 2024 presidential race. One of his central pledges is to reinstate merit as a key principle while also reducing reliance on China. Notably, he stands as the second Indian-American to enter the Republican Party’s Presidential Primary, following in the footsteps of Nikki Haley.
Born to Indian parents who emigrated from Kerala to the United States, Ramaswamy pursued education at prestigious institutions including Harvard and Yale universities. His ambition to elevate the nation’s discourse through his presidential aspirations aligns with his track record as a tech entrepreneur.
Musk’s endorsement comes amidst his recent visit to China, where his connections with Chinese officials came under scrutiny from the Republican leadership. During his visit, Musk expressed intentions to expand his business presence in China, extolling its vibrancy and potential, even as he met with China’s foreign minister.
In response, Vivek Ramaswamy raised concerns about China’s influence in the United States, asserting that the country had manipulated well-known American business figures to advance its own interests.
Ramaswamy expressed unease about Musk’s meeting with China’s foreign minister, where Musk opposed the idea of separating the US and China, likening the two nations to “conjoined twins.” Interestingly, while Tesla’s Vice President in China reposted this statement on Weibo, a Chinese social media platform, the statement did not receive the same attention within the United States.
In the past, Elon Musk has extended his support to political figures such as Ron DeSantis, who openly challenged former US President Donald Trump through a Twitter Spaces event, marking Musk’s involvement in political discourse.
